Calling all Pilots n Paws Pilots! I have another special request I hope you are able to consider.

There is a PnP Flight Coordinator that needs our help. She lost her old brown hound recently and needs our help getting a new pup to her. The pup is located in Pittsburg PA and Liz is in MA.

So far nobody has volunteered to help transport the pup. I am in Omaha and would gladly fly if I were closer.

Can anyone out there help?

Here is her PNP post:

As I do not always receive notifications of postings here.. please email me at gsplady007@hotmail.com and refer to HUNTER TRANSPORT in the subject line.

I want to start by saying thank you to all my friends here for the overwhelming support and words of condolences and wisdom. Not going to lie, these past few weeks have been devastating for me. I'm still not quite right (although really never have been) things will never be the same around here without my Old Brown Hound. Horrible hole in my world.

Of all the transports I have done, this is the first time that I have ever requested help for me, and it is a bittersweet transport for me. It is also very difficult for me to ask.. this is an adoption to a forever home (me) from a private party that tried to do the right thing by a stray back in June.

Some background; this pup showed up as a stray on this woman's doorstep, emaciated and filthy mid June. They tried to find his owners and had no luck so she reached out for help on one of the facebook sites. Anyway, she 'friended' me, and followed advice on the breed, but just feels that she is not the right home for him. She loves him very much by the way.. but GSP's can be a tough breed for the uninitiated.

Anyway, she saw that my Old Brown Hound died and she emailed me that while she loves him; she would like to give him to me as she can't give him what he needs. I was astounded as well as touched. There are no monies being exchanged here.. it's just one family trying to do the right thing by the stray that they took in and love and this old hag that is trying to heal.

Not going to lie; it was a long few days here, but then a friend in rescue reminded me that there is no better way to honor my Wingmans memory than to help a hound in need. I would like to also believe that my Old Brown Hound perhaps knows that this pup that is currently digging to China, tearing up the furniture and ripping out the Mums, is exactly the kind of flunky that he was at that age.

POTENTIAL ROUTE:
(flexible of course)
AGC~70N (Allegheny County~Spring Hill) <213NM>
70N~PYM (Spring Hill~Plymouth Municipal) <213NM>
As this is a collective effort of multiple pilots, even if a leg has been 'spoken' for I would still need to connect the dots as such;
If you can assist, can you please reply with:
The days you are available to fly
Your home airfield identifier
The leg you can help with or the alternative route that you can assist with?
And given the weather of late: WHAT YOUR REQUIRED MINIMUM IS

Passenger Information:
Hunter
German Shorthaired Pointer
8mos approx
Male
38#
Traveling with: Health Certificate and vet records, rabies tag, certificate, collar, toys, food for contingency HARNESS AND LEASH

Thank you all so very much for your consideration and again, thank you all for your emails and well wishes.

Not sure how this program works, but I'm a short drive from the Pitt area and would gladly volunteer to help with the dog, fly right-seat to tag along, etc. Just a student pilot but willing to help with the pooch if needed and never turn down a reason to fly...

Your best bet is to go back to the original posting, click the link, and post your offer to drive. Also, send an email to the OP about your offer. Don't assume they will be monitoring this thread.

I just caught that as well Murphey, thanks. I'll offer help for any future needs they have, but turns out they want a flight this Saturday and I'll be out of town with my kiddos - who just told me about a warbirds show at a local airport that we might just have to attend... :goofy:

Thanks...I agree with the above. I'll also pass this along to Liz but going to the Pilots N Paws Link and/or emailing Liz is best.
