C-47 at KWAY

I was working on my Chief yesterday and a C-47 stopped by to refuel and spend an hour on the ground to let folks check out the airplane. I tooks some pictures (posted here)

They were flying from Ft Begging, GA back home to Geneseo, NY.

I only had my Blackberry so some of the pictures are marginal quality.

It was at the Miramar Air show, or the one at Gillespie Field, I'm not sure, a few years back. I was in the 101st in my youth, so I paid my dime to climb aboard and take a look. I sat there trying to imagine what those fellows must have felt like on "D" Day. They had the crew and a young woman dressed in period clothing, it really helped my imagination along. It was money well spent.
