C-130 down

Got anymore background on what happened? I have landed on dirt fields in a C130 and they can really take a beating but that bird really must have smacked down hard to collapse the gear and fuselage like that.
 
I got no details in the email, but I pinged a AF C-130 friend this morning about it... waiting for reply
 
Well, if it wasn't a total loss after that landing, it certainly is now! I was wondering how they'd retrieve it for repair. No longer! Glad that all aboard are OK.
 
Well, it was a good landing. Not a great one, but a good one. Glad they all walked away from it. It will be interesting to hear the cause.

Wow. It's amazing anybody survived that. The only pics I had seen of the Kalitta crash down south showed the cockpit area, but were zoomed in so it didn't show it detached from the rest of the airplane.... :hairraise: Good thing it was just flowers in the back... I don't think people would have survived.
