Continental's O-300 is one of the most popular engines ever to power GA aircraft. Looking at old posts, I can't find anything odd or unusual about the breed.

The O-300 came from the O-280, which was originally the C-115/125/140. Not having graced the front of a 172 I don't see nearly as much about the "heavy case" C-125. Do they have any quirks?

Thanks

The GC-1B Swift used this engine originally.

Typical small bore TCM.

Possible biggest “ fault” is it was too easy to upgrade to the

c-145 or O-300.

They often wore SF ( lunchbox) mags and many have not been serviced in decades.
