By chance, anyone remember the Cherokee that crashed at Reno on Aug 2, 1991 (N5277L)?

My father, Wes Moberly, was the pilot of Piper Cherokee N5277L that stalled on a go-around at Reno Cannon (RNO) at about 8:30 PM on Friday, August 2, 1991 and came down between two Nevada Air National Guard vans near the Guard ramp. He and his two passengers died. NTSB LAX91FA342; the report says he was having radio receiver trouble, set up for the wrong runway with a tailwind, went around, and stalled in the turn at about 7,500 ft density altitude.

I was a small child and grew up with almost nothing beyond a few clippings. I'm not trying to second-guess anything I'm just a kid who grew up without his dad and looking for better understanding and some closure. It would be neat to hear from anyone who was flying out of Reno or Stead in 1991 and perhaps remembers that night, worked the tower or the FBO, was on the Guard ramp, or flew with him at Squadron 2 in San Jose.

Thanks for reading this,
Josiah Moberly
