Actually, the below came from one of the guys at Bowdoinham(Merrymeeting Field):

"KILLDEER ARE HERE!!!!

All three eggs hatched this morning(yesterday morning to you) around 8:00am. Jack, Pete, Greg, and myself were passing out cigars for our new pilots. We named them Larry, Curly, & Moe. They'll probably be gone by tomorrow morning(this morning to you).

In the afternoon, I showed the babies to my 11 year old granddaughter, Hope. One was actually airborne. Hope said that the other two in the nest were dead because they weren't moving. I told her that they pretend to be dead. She wouldn't believe me. Anyway, as we walked away, the two "dead" birds got up and they walked away. Hope thought that was awesome.

Jack mentioned that he also saw another family of killdeer, with four chicks,
walking about 08B. Wow, another nest! Don't know where that one was.

You know, wearing my other hat, we had four birds on the field for over a month and they'll fly off without paying any fees to 08B. I'm going to have to get after my "muscle man" Rod to do a better job collecting."
