Building an airplane for less than $6500

There are several here below $6500, plus several more $6500 < kit < $10,000

$6500 for a plane. That's for millionaires. This one is one-third the price.
 
I'd love to see his cost breakdown. The engine, prop, wheels, and brakes almost certainly have a market value North of $6,500. So unless people are giving you a lot of stuff, that cost would be a hard thing to replecate. .
 
Looks like ,there's a new supplier for home builds,Home Depot.

Yea I was thinking the same thing
 
I had the honor at Oshkosh this year to see the expression on people's faces (assuming they weren't pilots) when they asked the price on the Piper Archer on display. Not a bad looking plane by any means, but it certainly didn't look like $300k worth of parts.
 
The African's are actually leading the way in low cost helicopters. Like the early EAAers, a lot of passion for flight going on over there.
