Leaving in three weeks to go to Florida Sea Base with my son's Boy Scout troop. Anyone else here gone who can offer PIREPs or suggestions, especially as I am a total landlubber?

Also, can anyone suggest a nautical app akin to Cloud Ahoy that will record breadcrumbs while sailing? iOS 5.1 and free preferred. Thanks.

I did the SCUBA program at Sea Base when I was a scout back in 1985. I'm sure there have been a lot of changes since then.

I use MyTracks on android. Might be on iPhone as well. Very basic, but it works.

I'm one of the adult advisors for my sons's troop and we have a slot there next Aug for live aboard diving. Really looking forward to it personally, and it'll be a great one for the scouts to run.

Speaking to other scouts and scouters, this is a much more laid back high adventure compared to the other bases, almost a vacation depending on the adventure you're doing. (Deep sea fishing was an extreme example according to one of our guides at another site)

We've done Northern Tier two years ago and Philmont last summer, so this make a Triple Crown too.
