BRUINS Win in SUDDEN DEATH

Strange thing is that I turned on the NBC telecast when there had been Flyers 1-0 lead right up to 2½ mins. in reg. play. Boston scored and the match went to sudden death until Boston scored.

The weird thing is it was referred to as The Winter Classic -- outdoor game at Fenway Park -- but it seems Bruins are scheduled to play Buffalo tonight. So was it an older TV match? I tried to DELETE my post but couldn't seem to get the DELETE to work.

Must be the New Year gremlins.

My guess: The outdoor game scheduled for 1pm was delayed until 8pm in order to avoid the rain. So NBC apparently decided to show the Bruins-Philly game in the time slot.

They also showed the Buffalo-Pittsburgh game from a few years ago to fill the time slot.

And tonight we have to watch the Leafs lose again because the CBC is committed to broadcast the Leafs game rather than the rescheduled outdoor game.

I can hope....as long as the Bruins show up to play instead of attempting to mail it in.

Edit: aw nuts, somehow I thought the Bruins were playing Toronto tonight. But, hey, I was close (the Bruins are in Buffalo)

The best thing about this time of year is the World Junior tournament. TSN has done a great job covering and promoting the tournament. The energy of the young players is fantastic. I remember a couple years ago a winning Canadian player was being interviewed after the game and stated that the game was "F****** awesome!" The interviewer smirked but nothing was mentioned. The FCC would have had a cow.
