Breaking the landing slump...

There were two things that helped me get over the landing hump:

first - I'd find Rod Macahado's landing video on Youtube. He discusses the best place to initiate your rounding out - as the runway takes over your entire field of vision, then you gently level off and cut power to idle.

second - My instructor said these simple words one day and they made me land: "Hold your altitude in ground effect." Once you think of it as that instead of "flaring" it all becomes a waiting game. You level off, and you just try to keep that altitude. The more you do it, the slower you get, and the wheels will have to touch at some point. Keeping altitude also forces you to avoid ballooning since you're never trying to flare. You just hold your altitude in ground effect, and then you land. He suggested I get the words tattoo'd on my arm!

Good luck!

An example of a plastic-safe cleaner would be electrical contact cleaner.

That would depend on which type, plenty of them are the exact same chlorinated or non chlorinated solvents as their CRC BraKleen equivalents in the red or green can.
