I picked up this tin and hosiery mending kit at a local charity auction recently. Anyone have any idea what vintage it is?

The tin was full of stick matches and the hosiery kit was laying in the bottom. I didn't see it after I was home and thought it was a pack of matches initially.

Something else to sit on the shelf in my office and collect dust. :wink2:

According to Wikipedia Braniff got their first 707 in late 1959 so it would be after that.

It may very well have been issued to commemorate that event.

...or in that time frame.

That livery (which I love) was succeeded by the "Flying Colors" starting in 1965. Further, the tail, with the stars on it, may not ever have actually been painted that way. Most had "Fly Braniff" there.

Neat find! As a Dallas boy, I had Braniff in the blood growing up.
