Bose A20 Issues

Hello, my bose A20s recently started cutting out in the right ear. They don't have that much use on them, no visible wire fraying or anything, but they are out of warranty. I've troubleshooted with different acft/plugs, switching the down cable side, switching from mono/stereo, yet nothing. It cuts in and out and is maybe from where the cable is hanging, but is also random. The aux plug in works fine, so probably a cable issue.

Has anyone experienced this before? I'm disappointed that with how little hours they have I'll have to spend $225 to fix. Is my only option sending to Bose for repair? Thanks for any help.
