Born to fly

My mom and dad will be celebrating their 75th birthdays this month, and we kids are putting together a scrapbook for them. Anyway, while going through the pix I found the photo attached, which is from my 4th birthday. Note the box I am holding. I guess aviation was my destiny, despite the fact that no one in my family had been involved in aviation in any way.

Looks like your indoctrination started at an early age.

For me my dad always loved planes. He did do pilot training in WW2 but did not complete it and his childhood friend became a pilot eventually flying for North Central. One of the few dad/son things he would do was to take me to airports to watch planes land and take off. Sadly he died before I become a pilot, had he lived I am sure he would be enjoying my hobby with me.
