He was highly experienced & very well regarded with a great reputation. I had read where he had some engine work done at some point fairly recently.
It sounds like a drift down after engine out, then possibly a slight adjustment near the ground when a wingtip hit 1st. It looked like he hit a slight ridge at a road edge which tore the prop off with the harder hit.
Regardless a very tragic accident.
