It has been gusty here in SE Tennessee all day and it was rough as a cob this afternoon aloft, so that might’ve played a factor.

ASN states that it was the result of a stall-spin scenario, although that doesn’t explain why it ended up flat.

All I can think of is that if it was a stall-spin, it must’ve been very flat. Seems unlikely though.

I hear ya, but I think he's done. Hell of a run, we should all be so lucky to keep flying into our 80s. fwiw He's got the already lowering life expectancy of the US (78.7) beat at 79, so he's running life post TBO for free now. LOL
