I've always enjoyed working on and restoring boats. Even more than cars, and planes. I like that I can mix things up with boats, and no one seems to mind much as long as it all works right. The biggest boat I've taken on is a 21' day cruiser and I'm itching to get back into it.
So - now I find myself with a spare Porsche 330HP engine, and no car to put it in. Natch, my thinking turns to boats. I'm looking for something without too much hull damage, and maybe a blown engine, or one that's been froze to shoehorn the Porsche engine in. I've been looking at some salvage yards, but so far no luck. Many are hurricane salvage with serious hull and water damage. I wouldn't mind a cruiser boat that was sunk, cuz I'll likely rip and replace just about everything electric. What I'd really prefer is a shallow draft type 22-29 with no engine. Thinking of putting the engine in backward and using a Casale V drive and prop shaft with plank rudder.
I've already got a cruiser boat that I can tootle around in, and a few jet skis, but this would be a custom show boat once done. I'd like to get the hull fairly shallow so the engine will show up some, no engine cover.
