I’ve had probably more than my fair share of ice cream in my life. But i can’t recall any better than this. Excellent - far superior to butter pecan.

If I'm ever on death row this is my last meal dessert!

I've heard of this mythical beast. Sadly not sold in this part of the country.

My brother can get it in the kansas city area but i think that’s fairly close to the bluebell frontier. It wasn’t available when he first moved there.

Okay, you guys are pilots. Blue Bell is made in Brenham, TX. You can fly into the airport, 11R, take the courtesy car into town and go on a tour! $100 Ice Cream? :p

I did look up shipping. They will ship 4 half gallons to you, for $137. I mean I like ice cream, but I'm also cheap and live in a town with a bunch of choices for ice cream shops.

I do visit the south regularly, so might have to sample it on my next trip.

When I was younger, Blue Bell used to be to-die-for and it used to be a vacation staple. It used to taste like they had milked the cow and made it into ice cream just for you. I bought some about a year ago now and it was such a big disappointment. It just tastes like all the other heavily-processed milk and corn syrup crap on the shelf.

Maybe you got some of the product made in Sylacauga, Alabama, instead of Brenhan.

Or maybe the cows weren't contented that day....

At least Blue Bell is still an honest half gallon. Most others are 1.5 and 1.25qt now.

I'm a Texan and I think you're right. I had a little Tillamook this evening and quit buying Blue Bell years back.
That opinion of mine of course only goes for mass produced ice cream. My favorite of all time is in Denton at Beth Marie's. Any time I'm near Dallas I go get some.

When I first had it, the ingredients didn't include anything much more than cream, milk, and sugar and now they definitely have more than that! :)
Yeah, I think it was about the time that Blue Bell went to using corn syrup that it started losing it's charm for me, and my family used to be the king of Blue Bell. They used to have the 2 for $5 sales back in the day, and my family had a dedicated second freezer, which was often half full of Blue Bell for entertaining. My dad would give each member of the family $5 and we'd get to pick one we wanted to have on hand and one for the general family preferences.
