I'm not looking at a chart and I'm not sure which line you're talking about, but if you're talking inbound from >12 miles offshore, you're talking penetrating the ADIZ, and there are most definitely communications that needed to take place, and yes, an F-18 on your wing is certainly a possibility.

Where's the question? One side is E and the other side is G to whatever altitude is noted or the base of the A. Lot's of the G has gone away over the last couple or so years.
