Drove through the heart of P'cola yesterday to visit the VA and Navy Exchange. Looked up at every stop light and saw smoke trails and blue airplanes leaving "skid marks" in the unusually blue sky. And right over the metroplex. Blue Angels practicing for their Home Coming air show at the Beach. Just had to mention it.

If you are ever in the area on Tuesdays or Wednesdays through most of the airshow season, you can usually catch a practice session. If you have a military ID you can get on base and watch the whole show from the Museum flight line. Otherwise there are a few viewing sites around that are open to the public. Fort Pickens, right across the bay from the base, is popular.

Prior to the base shooting, the general public could access the museum and its flightline. Ever since then you have to have a military ID, or be escorted by someone who does. We all hope that policy changes eventually.

Jealous…but understand the post…practice is like a personal air show if you can catch it…don’t even have to see a picture or video…just hit playback in my mind and smile…
