How many remember the Sussex Air Show in Sussex County, NJ?
Remember Free-Loader Hill?
First time I went to the show, Leo Loudenslager http://ww.icasfoundation.org/hall_fame/1998/hf_loudenslager.htm opened the show. On lift off he completed three or four separate rolling maneuvers before he got to the end of the 3500' runway. What a great show! There was always a program of class acts, including the warbird parade, which usually included a B-17, P-40, and Mustang among others. It was better than a Blue-Angels or Thunderbird show. I made it a point to get there no matter where I was living at the time. I really miss it every year since the embezzlement controversy shut it down. what a darn shame...
