yawn. who cares.

+ Infinity

If you think football rankings are worthless, they are nothing compared to how worthless basketball rankings are. Basketball is such a 'tournament' game. You can stink all through the season and make a run in a tournament at the end of the season and have a chance to win it all.

That's why basketball will always be a superior sport. :D

BUT, with that said... It's nice to see new teams break into the (worthless) rankings. For teams that usually aren't ranked, it gets them some more press on ESPN and helps fill seats at their games.

Can't be rankings that Nick is on about.

UNM only got 35 votes and did not make the cut. They needed about 95 more votes to get listed.

:D Close.

January 8, 1996 was the last time we were in the top 25 (#25, IIRC).

Trying to find our highest, but I seem to recall it being top 10 in the early 90s.

Those are last weeks rankings, updated at 2:14am today to update the records....

This weeks are not yet out....
Ah right you are. I saw the 14 Dec update but paid no mind to the time.

Don't matter to me! Every poll I'm seeing has the Lobos in the top 20. I was expecting #23 or #24.

Go Lobos!

edit: Dick Vitale has us at #14.

Below the Bucks, and we suck these days. Nothing to be all that proud of says me.
