I have been on a beta blocker, propranolol, to keep my heart rate down. I would like to get my PPL and I am an Insulin Dependent diabetic. I use the Infusion pump to make things much simpler and easier to manage my sugar levels. I understand that the FAA does not allow PPL issuances for insulin dependents and beta blockers, despite argument from the cardiologist and endocrinologists at Vanderbilt, that there is no reason for it and that it does not cause hypoglycemic unawareness. So that said, what sort of medication should I ask my Dr. to look into to achieve the same results? I am adopting a healthier life style and eating right and exercising trying to lose about 15 lbs to make things easier on myself. This should help some but if I require medication to keep my heart rate down, currently at rest is around 90 with the lowest dose of the med. without the med it is around 100. ...I would rally appreciate some input on this from the pros that know around here. :)

Thanks
Tommy
