I still have a rotating beacon in my 235 but it stopped rotating this week. I took the glass dome off today to try and free it up and it completely slipped out of my hands. It was like a super slo mo video watching it fall to the hanger floor. Shattered upon impact. My mechanic says he might have another one but will have to look. I also may go ahead an update it now but just in case I don't...where would my best option be to find a replacement?

Discount aircraft salvage Deer Park Wa. They have a Web Page.

Now is a great time to convert to strobe .

I have the original one that came off my cherokee 180. Works fine, but the red plastic is slightly cracked - not all the way thru, not very far. PM me, you can have it for shipping and a pint of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream...or shipping and make a donation to your local food bank. I may even have an extra bulb.

Word on the street is the low profile led beacons are worth 3-4 knots. Pays for itself. Or at least you can tell yourself that.

If you have wingtip strobes, you do not need the vertical fin strobe to meet FAA lighting/visibility regulations.

Yep...my Lance has no beacon.... the vertical stabilizer tip was replaced with a smooth one with no place for one. Only downside is having to run the strobes all the time like a cirrus, but that's everyone else's problem, not mine....
