Which would you choose?

Best for what? Shooting local practice approaches, or traveling in the IFR system?

Not much of a choice knowing what is on the market.

My vote is to close the poll and start over.

I'd go with the six pack, it's probably cheaper and it will build a better foundation, going from 6pack to glass is no biggie, other way around not so much,

Also if I were in the poll, I'd vote for a grumman AA1 or C150 6 pack, you dont need a fancy plane, it's all procedures, the flying is not a big issue.

Go for cheap and basic, better for building skills and easier on the wallet.

For IFR training I'd go for a 6 pack. However I assume you mean just for IFR flying in which case the G1000 is obviously superior. Also if you need to use the standby the 40 is much better at they are actually located in a usable spot.

SR-20. Fast/2. can integrate into the NAS of the major airports.

If he's talking a real life IMC x-country bird, I would want FIKI.

Playing in the soup and having to worry about my OAT all the time aint fun and if you're traversing large distances it's not if, it's when you hit 0c and cant get lower.

I dont care about the flavor of flashing lights. For extended hand flying in imc i want an airframe that wants to go in one direction. PA32, PA34, C-210
