Beech 23 Engine Out in Abilene, Texas

This happened yesterday at KABI, my home airport. A student and instructor had an engine out while doing pattern work, and flew the plane down into an area of thick mesquite trees. Considering that they both walked away with what sounds like minor injuries, I thought this might be a good example of avoiding a stall and flying the plane all the way to the crash site.
