So I'm on my way home from work tonight, cranky because it's so damn hot and only going to get hotter, tired at the end of a week that felt like I was working in the tower, and I turned out of a parking lot headed for the tollway, and crossing my field of vision is the Collings Foundation B-17.
That cheered me right up, it was on its way to Palwaukee and it was just so sweet to see its stately progress across the sky. Put a great big grin on my face and thought I'd share it with all of you. The B-17, that is.

TKS.
The Lightning escort rocks too.

Elizabeth,
You can share the grin with us too! I have to say, you were QUICK with that camera! :)

BTW, Leslie and I ran into Char at OSH today!

Yep, 0-3,000 feet in less than 3 seconds, with my amazing jetpack!

God bless Char, at 85 years young, schlepping around Oshkosh in 90+ heat.

Saw it over OSH today, but too busy to get the camera. What a sound!

Shucks. I thought you were going to announce a bombing run on the mayor's house.
Sure is a beautiful plane. I took a ride in the EAA's Aluminum Overcast a few years ago. Once we were airborne, you got to wander around the plane. Not as big inside.
