Put this one in the same genre as The Smartest Guys in the Room. Lots of corporate intrigue, greed and ignorance. John Carreyrou does a good job of laying out the spectacular rise and crash of Theranos. Good pace to the story and the principals are well researched. An excellent (IMHO) tale of how enthusiastic public relations and the power of wishful thinking in support of an idea (and potentially make lots of $$) can launch a company. Learned a lot about the medical system, particularly the blood analysis business and the role of venture capital. Elizabeth Homes has a supremely good idea, some well placed references and a paranoid, strict, top-down oppressive management style that raises hundreds of millions of dollars. Of course, when the limits of science and credibility are eventually exceeded, the downfall is quick and painful to some very prominent persons who you will no doubt recognize.

I would rate this at 8 out of 10 stars - but, then again I do like corporate history stories.
