Finished my annual today,

About a week of solo time after work, an hour or two at a time and a Saturday actually hitting it hard with my dad running a screw gun to open and close the plane.

New aft nav light bulb,
Plugged in a disconnected wire for the left nav light
New oil and filters
Clean K&N induction air filter
New ELT battery
And a pair of monster retreads for the mains
Compressions ranging from upper 60s to mid 70s

I can dig it:yes:

You know of course that an RV would be much cheaper to maintain.

Missed this.

Curious - the K&N filter, is that specific for the plane or did you do a common match/owner provided part?

The ones they sell for Cherokee's are just a K&N filter for a Dodge Van or something.

one of the most epic internet arguments discussions I have ever seen was in reference to these claims on their website.

  • Increased horsepower
  • Reported fuel savings of .3 to .5 gallons per hour

That's interesting - I'll have to make a note of that at annual. Would prefer a K&N anyway.

Hey, Dunc,

How did the Monsters balance out? No problems?

In balance but I think they were a little out of round at first. Decent vibes for a bit, but a few (5) maximum short field landings to full stop and they are great now.

Yeah, just had to un lazy my ass and do it.

Sometimes it is hard to commit to another hour at the office

I understand that, my issue was driving 1.5 each way to get to the airport! lol Did i see you were at Moraine on Sat?
