Back-country flying video

Nice,a whole other world out there.
 
This is why the pilot that uses his fast retract plane for transportation also needs a taildragger in the hangar.
 
Damn, those guys definitely have some balls. Looks like fun though!

Those struts are a bit springy as you saw. They work wonders absorbing high loads, but they will also shoot you back into the air.

I've had a few landings like that with new students.
 
Looks like a ton of fun.

I did go into Johnson Creek for their annual fly-in a couple of years ago with my Commander. I was the only twin there that year. Had a lot of fun. Can't be done with the Aerostar.

I was on the way to install some wood flooring when Zane called.. So I met him at the airport in my grubby clothes.. Years ago i had my left ACL torn in two and my options were to have surgury or wear a knee brace that makes me look like a cripple so since the knee pads offer alot of lateral stability I usually wear them all day regardless of what I am doing..
