Have a meeting in Globe on Friday and if I'm running behind I was looking at the possibility of going direct to P13 and getting picked up instead of flying first to PHX and renting a car.

Scant info avail on P13. No fuel, services and the Google satellite image looks like there is no gate or fence to get through.

Anyone ever been there?

I lived on that reservation in high school. We went by Cutter regularly and I always thought to myself , "that is a god awful looking airport". I haven't landed there since I started flying but I have heard of people who have done so. Stay safe not to hit any dogs or persons in the Baron or in a auto.

Lots of us locals fly up there for the $100 burger at the casino, but I would be leery of leaving your airplane alone out there very long, especially after dark. I flew medevac in that area and lots of bad things happen. If it were me I would fly into Gateway (KIWA) and rent a car from there, just my 2 cents. Glenn

I will say the casino, hotel, and surroundings are underwhelming, so keep your expectations very low.

Yeah, I spent the first 25 years of my life in AZ and am familiar with the area. We used to drive up through Globe on the way to the Pinetop/Show Low.

My grandmother is turning 90 on Friday and wants to have lunch at the El Rey cafe (I'm coming as a suprise), so if I make the stop at P13, my brother will be picking me up and dropping me off. I won't stay long. Ideally, I'll get into Phoenix early enough to drive up with my brother, but it is nice to have options in case I'm delayed leaving Northern NM/Southern CO in the morning.

Thanks for all the info!

Well, I did fly in there last week. Runway and ramp are in decent shape, but apparently P13 is where airplanes go to die. I think there were a total of 6 airplanes on the ramp (not including the two stripped Beech 18s). Maybe one or two were airworthy. One 172 had 1995 as its most recent AZ registration sticker and it was just rotting in its tiedown.

The derelict Albatross was a sad sight as well.
