Had the local news on while I was working from home. Every 5 minutes it was a 'breaking news story' for over an hour with the same 4 sentences. So much for *new* news updates. http://snipurl.com/pm75

ANYWAY... Their reporter is flying over the wreckage in their news helicopter and says something similiar to:

"It looks like it was an engine failure from what I can tell by looking at the propeller."

????? :dunno:  :hairraise: ?????

The plane is sitting upside down at the bottom of a great big tree, you can barely see the propeller to begin with. When I heard that I wanted to jump out of my chair and call the news station.

But thats just a waste of time.

My guess would be that the propellor looked "ok" so he was basing it on the assumption that the engine was at idle/off when it hit the ground.

But if I'm going to crash land a plane, generally, I don't think I'd be at full power anyways.

There was a Grumman accident down here yesterday. The reporter called it a Roman American. Great.

On edit. Who am I to talk, I can't spell American!?
