I don't know what is going on with the site but I have been noticing the weather info has not been accurate or close to accurate. I get that the forecast could be off but even the current meter and actual weather is completely off. The site says the current weather is ovc at 1900 ft and will stay that way all day. I look outside and the TAF and it's completely clear skies.

I just looked at the METAR for KMYR (Myrtle Beach, SC), only two miles from where we are staying for the winter. I went back to the Low IFR conditions of yesterday/last evening and the sunshine of this morning. Everything seems to be as I saw it over the last 24 hours.

My favorite weather app to start my own WX briefing in MyRadar on my iPhone. That lets me zoom around my potential route to get a "civilian's" feel for the weather. Then I'll move to individual airport reports. Of course, with my low-n-slow Ercoupe, I'm not covering much ground when I go flying...

When did the problems start? If the forecast anomalies started last week, it may be related to the current events and the precarious "climate" at NOAA (see recent news coverage about NOAA).

It is the climate change that has been all over the news lately...

I’m trying to stay wary of shenanigans, but I haven’t seen anything amiss with METAR. However, I’m not seeing the fronts, pressure centers, or isobars redrawn when you roll back the time in the observations, including archive mode. They’re stuck to the most current rendering. This was not the case several weeks ago. So something’s weird there.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing when looking at the prog.

Not the prog, the observations. In the past, the fronts layer would move to historical positions when you looked back. Now they don’t.

Not hugely problematic for current or future operations, but annoying, and misleading if you’re using them for teaching or other retrospective analyses.

For what location? Perhaps the problem is with your weather reporting station.
