Anyone want to volunteer a company/contact where they've gotten good service/options? My renewal quote came in for this year and I'm not very happy with it. Going to shop around a bit this year.

Always used Avemco. When I passed the dreaded 80 year point, nothing changed year to year except last year requiring an annual flight review which always did anyway for a long time now.

Keep in mind that changing brokers won’t change the quotes you’ve gotten from the underwriters.
Yeah, this should be all new quotes from the underwriters.

To my detriment I've always used AVEMCO for renters and owners insurance since my first solo until now. I've gotten advice multiple times to switch, since they stop being the best choice after year 1 for owners (or I've been told), but I just never got around to it. Now I'm a bit more motivated to save some $$$. This will be my first time soliciting quotes from the underwriting community for the arrow.

I have used LL John’s, based at KPTK, for many years now. They have been good to me and easy to work with.

If your aircraft is 1985 or newer, 5x5, a direct insurer, may quote you. I spoke to them about a potential new aircraft and they were very responsive and also have pathways that can reduce premiums significantly. If your aircraft qualifies, I would give them a shot. Like AVEMCO, they are not brokers but write the policies themselves.

Good to know. This airplane won't qualify, it's a 1972.

We've gotten good service from Gallagher (ajg.com). They are patient with answering questions, getting quotes for differing scenarios, explaining what is driving one carrier's premium vs another, etc.

I have been with the same broker, although through two company changes for the last 20 years. That said, the service has declined as the specific broker has gotten older like me. Almost like the whole process is now on autopilot. I may look for a new broker to shop my insurance this next year. I just have to remember to ask them not to shop me so I can get a new broker to run the trap line for new quote.

I have used Travers for about a decade. Good service and I'm happy with the quotes I get.

I use Facer Insurance Agency out of Rantoul, IL. They have been very responsive and easy to deal with.

I read a lot of good anecdotes about them. I thought I'd try them for Repair Station/A&P insurance. Submitted a pile of docs online. Crickets. When I remembered I had done it and inquired appx 8 weeks later, I was given a "oh, yeah, we have this one (junky) quote" -- no notes about follow-up, what to expect, or how the pricing works (usually a % of gross, but... details woulda been nice) -- nor if they were done looking.

That sort of "F off" energy has me keeping my barons out of their clutches.

I think the prudent question to ask a prospective broker is for a comprehensive list of the companies they can get you quotes,

I used Kimmel Aviation Insurance out of Greenwood MS. Very satisfied.

Parker at Airspeed.

Was able to keep my rates dropping and tell me the pros and cons of each company that quotes each year, as cheap isn’t always best. And, ya know, I got sideswiped at Bessie’s and he and the insurance company made that fairly painless.

Nice to see a recco with an actual claim involved. Most of these threads are just listings of people who know how to cash checks.

Parker has also helped me with a yucky ground claim situation for rodent damage to my old Luscombe. Highly, highly recommend him.
