Looking to fly Austin vfr and wedding in downtown area. What are my best options for easy approach and landing close but not too busy.

I am based at Austin Executive (KEDC). It is fairly close and a very good airport. Another option is Georgetown (KGTU) with very cheap fuel (possibly some of the cheapest in the country) and not a far drive to downtown area.
KAUS is extremely busy and can be quite hostile to GA VFR traffic - I would recommend avoiding at all costs or come in IFR.

KEDC is convenient; GTU is a short hike north and HYI is a similar short hike south. Any of the three are great options.

ETA: if you can’t go IFR, keep your options open for all three as it one or two of three may not be available due to wx conditions, but the third is.

Thanks. That helps.

Went into austin kaus in a cherokee 2 weeks ago in marginal weather.
If you are on your radio game, it's facile.

I liked 3r9 while I was down there. Friendly neighborhood vibe.
