Attention to all SoCal pilots - most of us have more than a passing interest in the sky and whats visible and when its visible together with the Space program, such as it is, but tonight, from about 1940PDT to 1946PDT, on a ground track from Long Beach to about Apple Valley the Dragon spacecraft built right here in Southern California and the Space Station, mostly assembled up there, will pass over head.

This is a BRIGHT Mag -4.1 [as bright as Venus] pass of the ISS, with the Dragon resupply spacecraft out in front of the ISS heading toward a docking tomorrow - the Dragon will be a lot dimmer than the ISS obviously and with a little effort it should be visible - simply look in front of the ISS which will be unmistakably bright. . .

Set your phone alarms - this is not one to miss . . .

That was neat - got a break in the clouds over head and to the NE - and the ISS was VERY bright - Mag -4 or so - and trailing it in the same orbital plane was the Dragon spacecraft - maybe Mag 1 or so - very definitely you could it as in the same plane - they traversed the exact same section of sky.

Denver area completely overcast both orbits.

Rats.
