FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER KANSAS CITY ON THURSDAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Kansas City,
Missouri, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the
area during President Bush's planned visit on Thursday, January 25.

There will be a large 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight
restriction (TFR) centered on the RIS VOR's 133-degree radial at
9.9 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect
from 10:20 a.m. local until 1:50 p.m. local on Thursday. Also, there
will be multiple smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zones in effect within
the larger TFR during that timeframe. See AOPA Online for the full
text of the notam along with a graphical depiction
( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/1554 ).

The affected landing facilities are Lee's Summit Municipal (LXT),
Charles B. Wheeler Downtown (MKC), East Kansas City (3GV), Hillside
(63K), Martens (4MO8), Johnson County Executive (OJC), Harry S.
Truman Regional (2M1), Friends Field (4MO9), West Aero Ranch (6MO9),
Roosterville (0N0), Pine Sod Ranch (8KS7), Cedar Air Park (51K),
Clay County Regional (GPH), Albright (SN78), Rollert Farm (29MO),
Kansas City International (MCI), New Century Aircenter (IXD),
Lawrence Smith Memorial (LRY), Excelsior Springs Memorial (3EX),
Lcf Heliport (SN60), Gardner Municipal (K34), Mount Muncie (72KS),
Hilltop (MU62), Neu Field (8KS1), Lexington Municipal (4K3),
Crosswind Airfield (SN88), Block Air Village (MO71), Northwood
(2MO2), Mac's Field (7MO6), and McDonnell (03MU).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
