A friend of mine has a birthday coming up and wants to go flying. We've been thinking of going up to Oshkosh to visit the museum. I looked up KOSH on airnav and under the information for the 2 FBOs, one has 'UNICOM 122.95' and the other 'ASRI 130.525'

What is ASRI and how does it differ from a unicom frequency?

ASRI is the frequency obtained commercially by the FBO Orion Flight Services. That allows you to call in to request things like a quick turn before you land or to ask where to park on their ramp after landing. The UNICOM frequency is an FCC-assigned frequency given to the airport for all the things a UNICOM is suppsed to do (including the things you'd do on that ASRI freq with Orion). In this case, the FBO Basler operates the UNICOM, so Orion got their own freq for their customers to use while Basler's customers make their requests on UNICOM -- helps keep things sorted better.

But what does the acronym stand for?
