Aspiring Pilot from Ethiopia – Grateful to Connect with Fellow Aviators

[AlulaCPL]

Hi everyone,

My name is Alula Y. Kidanemariam, and I’m joining this incredible forum from Ethiopia. I’ve long dreamt of becoming a commercial pilot, and after years of working and saving, I’ve finally begun pursuing this path seriously. I’m currently preparing to apply for flight training with Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy, and I’ve managed to secure a portion of the required funding through personal and family effort.

I joined this forum to learn from experienced pilots, hear your stories, ask questions, and be part of a community that shares this passion for flight. I may be a world away (geographically), but I feel aviation brings us closer I’m hoping to gain insight, encouragement, and maybe share a bit of my own journey too.

Looking forward to engaging with many of you.

@AlulaCPL :

Welcome to Pilots of America where, as it turns out, you don't have to be from America to be welcomed!

You just have to love airplanes. A crooked sense of humor doesn't hurt, either.

Tell us all about how the Ethiopian Airlines academy system works - I know I find it fascinating to hear more about flight training in other countries.

The other good news is, odds are, when you find yourself coming stateside, you're likely to be able to meet-up with some PoA-ers and maybe even do some flying. I can say with certainty that I met my best friend on the planet through PoA, over twenty years ago, and I'm lucky to have done. Just spoke with him about an hour ago, too.

The journey starts - keep us posted!
