It's been a dream of mine to fly around the world like this guy is doing right now:

Nice daily journal of what he's running into as he flies into different countries.
 
Neat, I don't understand why he chose to fly into the Trade Winds though. I always take the north route across the Atlantic. Iceland is a wonderful stop and only about 1100 NM from NF.
 
It does seem kind of 'backwards' compared to the traditional route, doesn't it?

One thing every sailor learns early is it's a lot easier to go downwind than up. If I was going to take a low latitude route, I would have crossed the Pacific first. An RV-8 ought to be able to haul 2200 miles worth of fuel.
