Yesterday as I took a walk across the ramp I was trying to show a friend how you could look up any aircraft registration and when I punched in N300EL it could not find it.
Needless to say I was wrong in stating that you could look up any registration.

He's not talking about looking up a flight path on FlightAware.com. He's talking about looking up the N-number in the FAA registry.
 
Right. What I got was also off the "official" FAA site. The number change was authorized on 4/12. It says so in both places.


Agreed....... But... The OP took the pic yesterday... Two weeks after the change was authorized... I always thought you had to display the "current and legal" N numbers on a U.S. aircraft....

Even it took duct tape to make the temp change..:dunno::confused:

The number was changed from N200EL to N300EL so it was displaying the correct number yesterday.
