We may fly down to Huntsville TX in December and I saw this approach when looking at what was available for the airport.

I've flown several approaches with arcs, but never one that ended with a turn outbound from the navaid. The approach doesn't look difficult, just different.

VOR/DME-A to KUTS (Huntsville TX)

I've got two -- one at my home base and one in the backyard:

VOR/DME RWY7 at LZU

VOR/DME at WDR

So by my experience, I figured most VOR/DME arcs went "out." I can't find any near here that go in. Can anyone share an example?

Gotta remember those to throw at students in the sim when learning DME arcing and approaches -- along with the KMTN VOR/DME or TACAN Z Rwy 15 approach. Can't do the Hunstville TX approach because the sim's DME only goes up to 20nm, but the two Rich posted will work.

Most arcs I've flown end with a turn towards the VOR for the airport where the VOR resides. KSGU, http://download.aopa.org/ustprocs/20090730/SW-4/sgu_vor_dme_rwy_34.pdf

I did a search on these things and found 5 or 6, because I usually train by making them up. First we fly a counter clockwise 11 dme arc turn inbound and then fly a 6 dme arc clockwise and turn outbound. Distances are airspace related.

I will look for my notes post the ones I've found.
