Texas Pilots,
Grace Flight needs your help. We have been called to assist in a "puppy" transfer for the Denver Dumb Friends League in connection with Humane Society of the United States, United Animal Nations and Pet Smart Charities. I know some of you are probably asking yourself what Grace Flight has to do with the Denver Dumb Friends’ League. Well, a simple answer is that they came to us asking for assistance and their mission is to help in the relocation of approximately 100 small breed dogs from the property of an elderly couple in the city of Paris, Arkansas that has been closed by the State. We are being asked to help transport cages of various sizes down to Paris, Arkansas and bring back filled with small dogs to the Denver Dumb Friends’ League. The dogs will weigh anywhere from 5 to 25 pounds each and will stay crated inside the aircraft. Here is a sample of the dogs traveling various breeds, including Pomeranians, Yorkshire terriers, miniature collies, poodles, spaniels and pugs. All of the doggies have a certificate of health.
We are reaching out to you and asking with a sincere heart for your assistance; especially those with a larger aircraft that can make the trip with the current weather that we are experiencing in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Colorado and throughout the Midwest. The missions can be flown starting today, through Friday, March 27. Paris, Arkansas (7M6) is located approximately 33NM east of Fort Smith, Arkansas. If your aircraft cannot go into Paris, the facilitators in Arkansas are willing to drive to either Clarksville (H35) or Ozark-Franklin CO (7M5) to assist us in this mission request.
I know we all signed up with Grace Flight thinking we would be flying patients with a medical need. However, don’t forget, our mission statement is to remove the transportation burden for any humanitarian purpose. These doggies need our help in their hour of darkness. The volunteers at the Dumb Friends’ League need our assistance – without us, they face a 32 hour round-trip drive, part of which will be made with various doggies. Please respond to this request with an open mind and a full heart and provide a resounding "YES" if you are able to assist. The League is eminently grateful for whatever we can do to assist. Thank you for thinking outside of the normal bounds of our Grace Flight missions, and for reaching into your hearts to assist with this project.
Thank you for your time and effort with this unique request.
PS - Attached is a list with carrier sizes and weights. We put this together so each pilot has the option to select what works best for their respective aircraft (both from a size and weight perspective)
