i've been studying my IFR book and videos and learned that jeppesen has their own approach charts. it looks like they are layed out nicer than the FAA ones.

what do you prefer?

Jeppesen! They are so much easier to read and their briefing strip helps when setting up & briefing approaches. (Jepp plates & charts are the standard in the airline business.) They cost more but are worth it. "Airway Manual Express" packs are much cheaper than a subscription and are great for IFR students.
