after I installed the newest updated "Photo" program I can no longer up load pictures to any web page .

Why can't Apple leave shi- alone.

I'm in the process of (tediously) uploading all my iPhoto library photos (about 19,000) to Google Photos.

Liking it, but still no easy way to just grab a link an post it - for that I still have to go via Flickr and extract the raw jpg link.

No experience with Apple Photos yet - if I get a new Mac in August I may be forced to migrate then.

I think it's humorous to read a complaint about uploading a new program followed by "why can't Apple leave s--t alone". Not like I haven't said similar things a few (hundred) times! The usual solution is to borrow a neighbor kid to show me how to make it work.

This new photo program requires you to have all your mobile devices linked to "photo" and that data base is not free, for folks who have more than 5 gig of data.

follow the money.

This was presented with no choice, as an simple upgrade for security measures. After up grade, no more picture links off your computer.
When I try to use the "manage attachment" button below it will not allow me to select the pictures I have always been able show here.

I tried similar, my first experience with web-based photo hosting. Couldn't link them to any website I tried. Phooey on it.

Because they are lagging and feel they need to make up for it by re-inventing the wheel every year and then frantically fixing only half of their broken s*it the rest of the year.
They are not doing this to make us customer happy, they are doing it to make themselves feel better. It is not about customer support anymore. We are the cash cows, we need to get used to being treated as such.

Eddie,
Strange, in Google Photos when i'm viewing my photos on my pc in full screen (black background) I can just right-click, 'copy image URL', and use that link anywhere to pull up the photo.(on other computers without my login).

You can't do it from the 'album' view which shows multiple images.

This was my attempt to link one of my photos in google photo to here.

You can select what goes to the cloud and what does not so as not to exceed the free storage limit. I have a LaCie Fuel to store pictures and iTunes music files for when I'm traveling and don't have my laptop. It has 1 TB so there's lots of room for movies and videos, too.

don't grab the url from the title bar, are you right-clicking the picture(in the full page view) to get the url? Try that. Don't use album view either(where you see multiple photos on a page).

Nice, I just noticed that the size is part of the URL, so if i want a smaller one, I just edit the url with the width i want, for example 250 width:

nifty

Thread hijack alert!

anyway, back to talking about Apple (i'm out)

If you use Dropbox, their Carousel photo app/website is great, works with iOS devices and is no (additional) cost.

or 400 width version:

(ok, I said was i was out, now i'm out, probably, maybe)

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

From your PM I figured it out. Yay!

That trick to get a different size by making the browser window larger or smaller is tres elegant!

Pretty cool! And with the many ways to search for images, it should make getting your hands on the right one that much easier!

BTW, It's taken me about a week to upload the 19,000 images I exported from iPhoto, but I'm in the home stretch!
