Ok admit it I am watching Airplane Repo for the laughs. Narrator says the guy is working off a map on a napkin because he is "out of GPS range". :goofy::goofy::goofy::goofy::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Well that makes at least a little more sense.

This show really pegs my BS meter.

For some reason I always remember the "Risky nighttime landing" episode where they make a big deal out of landing at dusk. If that's a challenge then I'm a certified ace because I do it all the time and I even fly in complete darkness sometimes without any headlights. I even fly without windshield wipers.

GPS went out? Holy crap. That's an instacrash waiting to happen! What's next--transponder inop? Landing at a desolate uncontrolled field with only a 3000' runway and no flight plan? How do these guys do it... Thankfully Discovery is there to explain every treacherous turn to us mere mortals.

I guess the guy believes in the flat earth theory or he's in the Twilight Zone....

I get a kick out of it, is entertainment, getting mad at that show is like the dorks who get mad at stuff on shows like Star Trek "OMG, everyone knows that ship can't do warp 12" it's like dude, calm down it's fiction. ;)

So you do understand :) When they say that the GPS went out of range in Mexico, it's exactly like Spock suggesting that they fly home at warp 12!

Wife: isn't there anything else on TV?
Me: yeah but look at the shiny planes. :D

Yep! That's when I get the "roll-eyes" and then she goes to the bedroom to watch QVC till 3am. I've learned to let her watch QVC on the big screen and I just watch youtube videos of shiny airplanes on my macbook with an earbud in 1 ear so I can hear her when she say's, "thats a nice purse." Then I can quickly respond, "go ahead and buy it if you want".
