Anyone who has been to Thunder over Michigan in the past?

I'm planning on going with my family this year, and was just wondering if you can walk around all the planes? (My mom really wants to see Bruce Koch's Vultee SNV-1 Valiant, she loves those planes!) Can you get close to his plane or is it usually parked on the ramp away from spectators does anyone know?
