I just spent about an hour searching through the IACRA website and the FAA website. There are no options, guidance, or obvious ways to change your name on your pilot's license. I guess it makes sense, since there aren't too many women who have pilots licenses, and there's probably even fewer that get their license and then get married, but I can't be the first to do so! I sent an email asking about this to their contact page, but have no clue how long it'll take to process.

Does anyone here happen to know if there's a process to follow to change your name with the FAA? Or do I have to go into the FSDO to do this?

Thanks!!!

Quick google search unearthed this:

https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/name_change/

Name Change
To obtain a new airman certificate that reflects a legal name change, you must appear at an FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) for positive identification You must present to an FAA Inspector either a:

  • photocopy of a marriage license
  • court order
  • other valid legal document verifying the name change

Thanks. I guess I should have just used google instead of trying to use my own brain to figure out the FAA sites. LOL

May have to get an opinion from the MC, but I think its against forum rules to have a question answered so quickly and easily. :D
