So this might be a long shot, but I am looking to see if anyone has a Lonestar Commander 2000K sitting around gathering dust. I am looking to update the KLN 89B in the plane I fly, and I need either the dock or a panel mounted plug (not installed).

So, before I go and order a new one...does anyone have one they no longer use?

I use the panel mounted plug. Makes life so much easier, worth the investment unless you plan to upgrade in the near future.

Uh, I might. Is that the thing that you can mount it in on the desktop?

Any idea of the cost involved? It's not my plane, so it'll be up to the owner whether he wants to pay for the mount or a dock
Yeah. Let's you take it out of the plane and use it at home for practice, update etc.

I was bidding on a KLX135 GPS/Comm that came with that desk unit just a couple days ago. There was no activity and I was hoping to steal it for under $400 but it ended up going for $665. All the activity in the last minute :)

I think I have one of those buried in the basement. Let me go spelunking and see if I can find it. Now that I have the KLN89B out of the plane, I can even check and see which of the myriad of weird cables I have goes with it. ;)

So. I have the power cable and the data cable that goes from the Commander to the KLN. I'm not sure what those other two are for, but presumably the four-pin one on the right is the serial cable that goes to the computer (I know that the panel cable has four conductors - I think it's physically the same as a helicopter headset plug). I can check with my avionics guy if you're interested. But, obviously I got it to where the GPS powers up and knows it's in the Commander, so I think it's good! This is the first time I ever actually used it.

I don't think I have the box or a manual, but there's a PDF of the manual at the link above.
