I'm still here - I mostly lurk and pop in to post something if I have something I think I can genuinely add to the conversation.

I was wondering if there is anyone in the Denver area or knew of any good mechanics that know 172's in that area. The club I'm in is looking to get another 172 and I'm on a committee that's been looking at planes. The club is non equity so myself and some other members would be buying the plane as a partnership and then leasing it to the club. The leaseback terms for the club are excellent, but we would want the plane to have a clean prebuy, especially since owners are largely responsible for maintenance the first year that the plane is in the club. I found a 172M with a 180HP conversion from Air Plains, but the plane is in Denver. She's got a 530W, dual G5's, an STEC autopilot and VG's.

Here's the ad

Does anyone know any mechanics out there that would be good to do a prebuy of this airplane? Thanks.

Adam or Bill at Mile High, KCFO.303 261 4111. Not only do they do all the work on my Cherokee, it they also fly it on occassion, so it’s they have skin in the game.
the airplane is at Centennial, it’s a 15-20 min flight to spaceport.
At centennial, I suggest StraightFlight. More expensive than Mile High but also very good. I had strut problems one day when I flew down to take a friend flying…never went flying but the guys at StraightFlight stopped what they were doing to fix the problem, very reasonable cost, much more reasonable than I expected.
The avionics shop on the other hand…I don’t go near.

I'm in Denver area and know a few A&P's in area..... do you want a pre buy inspection? I will ask them.

Well the plane in Denver ended up being sold. So changing the objective to Charleston, SC?

Thanks in advance.
