Anybody else get depressed when...

You can thank me for the good weather. My plane is in annual (going on a month and they havent started the squawks yet), so because I cant fly, the good weather is here.
Man, is it common for you owners to have your plane down for 10% or more of the year every year for an annual?

On a side note, the weather cleared out here early this afternoon. It's so clear and the moon is so bright you could sit outside and read a newspaper. I was going to spend a few hundred bucks on dinner tonight, but the rental is down because somebody had a bird strike.:mad2:

Well, for those of us with older planes, pretty much.

Even if nothing is broken, you either replace something proactively at annual time or do upgrades. Then shops get busy, and a small thing that would normally take less than a day of work can drag for weeks.
 
Here we are again, the plane I rent is down from a bird strike.
